So the local news made a big deal of Hurricane Alex.  We had sand bags in the garage, front door, and back door; tied down our grill, and took precautions with our garden, but all it happen was rain and wind.

We had fun taking pictures anyway.  It was some what exciting to go through this experience.  It made us realize how much 72-hour kits are necessary and most importantly food storage.  All we were not ready with was a generator.  We were able to get one after going to a few stores and being told that all were gone.  Thankfully the electricity did not go out and everything else is same as always. Too bad the base pool is not open today 'cause it would have been nice to go to the pool with this heat!

Glad you weren't hit!!
We went thru a similar eye opening experience when we got hit with an ice storm that knocked out power for 7days. We realized a 72hr kits is great but you need a way to cook it LOL. We also got a generator. What a blessing and piece of mind to have one of those handy!
